Rhino free trial

Rhino free trial is the full Rhino 8 evaluation: for 90 days you run the complete application with every feature, no credit card, and commercial use is allowed during the trial. It is genuinely time-limited — not a permanent free version. After 90 days the program keeps opening, but saving files and running plug-ins stop until you buy a licence. There is no cracked route and no "free full version"; the evaluation from the official rhino3d.com is the only free way to use Rhino.

90 days · full features · no credit card · Windows & Mac

What the evaluation includes

During the 90 days the evaluation behaves exactly like a bought copy of Rhino 8 — nothing is locked or watermarked.

Full Rhino 8, every feature No credit card Commercial use allowed NURBS, SubD & Grasshopper Cycles raytraced rendering Windows & macOS

After day 90 the app still opens so you can view your models, but saving and plug-ins are disabled until a licence is added. See the system requirements before you install.

Converting to a paid licence

You do not reinstall to keep Rhino. If you buy a perpetual licence during or after the trial, you simply add the licence key to the copy you already have and saving and plug-ins are re-enabled on the same install and your existing files.

A one-time commercial licence is $995 ($595 upgrade from an earlier version); the student/educational licence is $195. There is no subscription. Compare the editions on the pricing page, or start from the download page. Prices are US amounts and vary by region.

Free trial FAQ

How long is the Rhino trial?
90 days from the day you first choose Evaluate. During that window it is the complete Rhino 8 with no feature limits.
Do I need a credit card?
No. The evaluation asks only for a free McNeel account (an email address). No payment details are collected to start it.
What happens after 90 days?
Rhino keeps opening so you can still view files, but saving and third-party plug-ins stop working until you add a licence. Nothing is deleted; you just need a licence to keep working.
Can I extend the trial?
The 90 days is a fixed, one-time evaluation and is not designed to be reset or extended. When it ends, buy a perpetual licence to continue — there is no free full version or cracked workaround.
Is it really full-featured?
Yes. The evaluation is the same build as the paid Rhino 8 — NURBS, SubD, Grasshopper, Cycles rendering and DWG/3dm file support are all included, and commercial use is allowed during the trial.
